Welcome to the Centre
The Byron Centre for the Study of Literature and Social Change was established in 1999 by the University of Nottingham. Located in the School of English Studies, the Centre provides a forum for research on Byron and other writers from the Romantic period, exploring the relevance of their works and ideas in a range of contexts. In addition to teaching and postgraduate research supervision within the School of English Studies, the Centre seeks to enhance knowledge and provoke debate in the wider community. The Centre organises the annual Byron Foundation Lecture, is involved in a range of outreach activities and offers freely accessible online teaching, learning and research resources. A range of materials and information are available on this site and I hope that your visit is both informative and rewarding.
